“William Clark’s Tree” in Long…
“William Clark’s Tree” in Long Beach WA. It looks real, but it is a sculpture that looks like the tree Clark, of Lewis and Clark, carved his name into in 1805. Behind the trees and dune is the Pacific Ocean. There are many Lewis & Clark sites in the area. Long Beach is on the Washington side of the Columbia River mouth and there is a bridge not far away into Oregon. Since Oregon has no sales tax, the major stores like Costco, Wal-Mart and Home Depot are on the Oregon side of the river.
