shared last night LIVE on our
Punch Drunk Virtual Get Together!
There was a lively discussion about the various types of punch, particularly during holidays gatherings, weddings, and parties, served from those with alcohol and those without and some with ice cream or sherbet while others were served warm. We even heard about Punch traditions some families have experienced since the 1960’s and others who mentioned a popular Punch within the Hispanic communities called Coquito!

Punch Recipes

Skinny Bikini
1 QT Raspberry Lemonade
1 3/4 c Coconut Rum
1 c Amaretto
Rainbow Sherbet Punch
Equal Parts of the following:
Hawaiian Punch chilled
Lemon/Lime drink like Sprite/ginger ale/7up chilled
Vodka (optional) desired amount chilled
Rainbow Sherbet
Mix first two in punch bowl, add preferred amount alcohol,
top with sherbet. Serve
60’s Ladies Punch
1 Peach, Apricot, or OJ frozen can juice
1 bottle Ginger Ale or Sparkling water
1 c Alcohol of preference
Sherbert
Fruit Ring Floater
Never made it the same way twice, but mix in a punch bowl
1 frozen juice can with ginger ale then and alcohol. Add fruit
ring and sherbet. Serve.
Sparkling Champagne Punch
40 oz Cranberry Juice chilled
1 qt OJ chilled
1/2 c Lemon Juice chilled
1 c Sugar
1 bottle Dry White Wine chilled
2 bottles Champagne chilled
Mix first 4 ingredients & stir to dissolve sugar then
add wine & pour over ice in punch bowl. Add the
champagne just before serving. Yields 5 Qts
Egg Nog Punch
1/2 gallon Egg Nog ice cream or vanilla bean (if can’t find)
2 quarts Egg Nogg chilled
750ML bottle Dark Rum or Brandy – chilled
Top bowl with COLD 7up or other lemon lime soda
Mix gently in a punch bowl. Garnish with ground nutmeg and serve
Hurricane Punch
4 c White Rum
4 c Dark Rum
4 c Passion Fruit juice
1 1/2 c Pineapple juice
1/2 c Lime juice
1/4 c Grenadine
Combine all ingredients in a gallon pitcher. Let rest in fridge at least 4 hours.
Pour in punch bowl over ice ring and garnish with orange wheels and cherries.
Actual hurricane not required!
Hawaiian Christmas Punch
2 46 oz bottles/cans of Red Hawaiian Punch
1 12 oz can of frozen lemonade concentrate
12 oz of water
1-2 liter bottle of orange soda chilled
Mix the 1st 3 ingredients together and chill. Just before
serving add the chilled orange soda and stir to combine.
Christmas Snow Punch
1 liter of red Hawaiian Punch chilled
1 2 liter bottle of Lemon-Lime soda chilled
1/2 gallon of vanilla flavored ice cream frozen
In a punch bowl stir together the Hawaiian Punch and lemon/lime soda.
Use an ice cream scoop to scoop the vanilla ice cream in to balls. (Like
snow balls) and float on top of the liquid mix. Serve in cups or mugs.
Wassail Punch
1/2 gal Apple Cider
12 Cloves
3 Cinnamon Sticks
1 c OJ
1/2 C Lemon Juice, or Pineapple, or cranberry juice
1/2 c Brown Sugar
Simmer on stove to incorporate flavors. Add Brandy or Sherry
Party Punch
2 cans Apple juice, unsweetened
Juice of 2 Lemons
2 tsp Lemon Peels
1 1/2 pint Soda water chilled
2 Tbs Sugar
1 Apple chunked
1 Orange chunked
Make a fruit ring of ice with lemon & orange
slices & put in large bowl to serve
Cranberry Lemon Punch
2 cans Cranberry Juice Cocktail
1 bottle Grape juice
2 cans frozen Pink Lemonade and/or OJ
3 c Club Soda and/or Ginger Ale
Serve over ice cubes
Spiced Rum Punch
4 c Apple Cider chilled
2 c Ginger Ale chilled
2 c Cranberry juice chilled
1 can frozen OJ
1 c Captain Morgans Spiced Rum
Mix in punch bowl Garnish with cranberries, apple
and orange slices Serve
Pineapple Sherbet Punch
2 liter Ginger Ale or 7up chilled
46 oz Pineapple Juice chilled
1 quart Vanilla Ice Cream
1 quart Pineapple sherbet
Mix ginger ale & pineapple juice in punch bowl,
scoop in Ice cream & sherbet Serve Make 32 servings
Grinch Punch
2 13oz Unsweetened Lemon-Lime Kool Aid
2 c Sugar
1 12 oz Pineapple Juice
1 12 oz Frozen Lemonade, thawed
Red Sanding Sugar
1/2 Liter Sprit
Ice
Pour 2 qrts of water into a 1 gallon pitcher. Add KoolAid,
Sugar & stir until dissolved, Add Pineapple, Lemonade to mix
Rim Top of Glass with water, then Sanding Sugar, Add Sprite
and ice. Serve
Mock Champagne Punch
2 Liter Ginger Ale chilled
46 oz Pineapple Juice chilled
64 oz White Grape juice chilled
Alcohol optional
Combine all and serve in Champagne Flutes
Citrus Punch Spritzer
4 c OJ chilled
4 c 7 UP or Sprite chilled
2 Oranges sliced chilled
2 Limes sliced chilled
Mix in large punch bowl & Serve over Ice
